Advanced Digital Skills for AI Uptake in Health (DIGITAL-2026-SKILLS-10-DIGITAL-HEALTH-STEP)

The actions under this topic aim at tackling the lack of academic training offer in advanced digital skills in key digital areas, while triggering a new way of delivering education programmes and training, building partnerships between education and training providers, businesses and research across the EU, and supporting the digital skills necessary for the deployment of digital technologies in strategic sectors.

DIGITAL-2026-BESTUSE-10-EHDS: Building capacity to deploy the EEHRxF and digital health services and systems to support the rights of citizens and reuse of health data under EHDS

AI Continent (DIGITAL-2026-AI-PILOTING-10)

The projects should demonstrate the integration and large-scale validation of cloud-based AI/GenAI systems, following a thorough assessment and testing over a large number of patient test cases in real healthcare settings. The proposers are expected to choose the types of health data, the AI/GenAI algorithms that are trustworthy and secure, and the medical use cases, with the focus disease areas being cancer and cardiovascular.

Project applications with a clear innovation content and implementation plans in biotech areas like medicine, bioinformatics, pharmaceutical products and services, life sciences, digitalisation, or (bio)process technology (non-exhaustive list of cooperation areas) are welcome.

The Biotech Call for Network Projects is dedicated to foster biotech-related cooperation between the listed countries: Austira, Belgium, Canada, Chile, France, Germany, Lithuania, The Netherlands, Portugal, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Türkye. Partners from countries that are not listed are welcome to join consortia if they organise their own national funding or self-finance their project work.

The ECTC aims to support multinational, Good Clinical Practice (GCP)‑compliant Phase I, Phase I/II and Phase II interventional clinical trialsin rare diseases. The purpose is to generate robust clinical evidence and, where appropriate, data of regulatory relevance to support future interactions with regulatory authorities and subsequent clinical development. 10. September 2026 is the deadline for submitting Express of Interest (EOI).

Building on the progress made through previous EDCTP initiatives, this call aims to scale and sustain these efforts by establishing training, twinning, and innovation networks, leveraging existing networks where applicable that will bolster workforce capacity in ethics, regulatory, and PV and harmonisation of processes and timelines. Central to this approach is the development of a robust digital health ecosystem, which will allow seamless collaboration and enhance the operational efficiency and responsiveness of ethics, regulatory, and PV frameworks through the integration of data-driven technologies and digital infrastructure, including artificial intelligence (AI) when considered appropriate, catalysing the approval and implementation of health solutions in SSA.

By aligning with these strategic directions, this CSA promotes a shared vision: one where digital innovation strengthens local health systems rather than working in silos. The goal is not to create new technologies, but to make better use of what already exists by improving coordination, strengthening human capacity, and supporting evidence-based policies and investments that can unlock the true potential of digital health across the region.

The HaDEA procurement HADEA/2026/OP/0019-PIN aims to ensure clinical trial preparedness for Filovirus (Marburg (MARV) and/or Ebola Sudan (SUDV)) outbreaks through the establishment of an EU-based reserve of investigational vaccines as a critical preparedness measure, given the sporadic yet high-consequence nature of these pathogens.

TRANSCAN-4, in continuity of the preceding ERA-NET TRANSCAN-3, has the goal of coordinating national and regional funding programmes for research in the area of translational cancer research. The specific challenge is to promote a transnational collaborative approach between scientific teams in demanding areas of translational cancer research to ensure a more efficient use of available resources (e.g. data, infrastructures) and ultimately to produce results of higher quality and impact.

This project aims to support the development of and access to technologies that can prolong the shelf-life of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) stored in bulk and advanced manufacturing technologies to produce finished dose forms from those bulk APIs rapidly, enhancing crisis preparedness by exploring potential gains in sustainability, resiliency, and flexibility to respond to future health emergencies.

The overall objective of the EIC Pathfinder for advanced research is to develop the scientific basis to underpin breakthrough technologies. It provides support for the earliest stages of scientific, technological or deep tech research and development. Pathfinder projects aim to build on new, cutting-edge directions in science and technology to disrupt a field and a market or create new opportunities by realising innovative technological solutions.
