Pre-proposal

Proposals must present research that addresses one or both of the following topics:

1. Repair and/or regeneration of the heart and/or the blood vessels
2. Chronic heart failure and atrial fibrillation

The Networking Support Scheme (NSS) of the European Joint Programme on Rare Diseases is funding quarterly networking initiatives in the field of rare diseases and rare cancers, bringing together health care professionals, researchers, patient advocacy groups, Early Career Scientists and other relevant stakeholders.

For the translation and implementation of future research outcomes into clinical practice, as well as for shaping future research priorities, it is essential to form synergies in the research community, to overcome gaps and hurdles, to build overarching networks, and to generate harmonizing concepts and ideas.

OrphaDev4Kids is a 3 year Project aiming to address the issue of Orphan medical devices (MDs) for the paediatric population. Paediatric MDs development faces unique challenges as children often differ from adults in size, growth, development, body composition, and disease features. Paediatric MDs development is more complex and riskier for developers and only a small number of approved MDs are available, few designed specifically for children and others readapted from adult applications.
