Around 1000 eHealth experts from across Europe attended this year’s eHealth Week from May 10 to 12 in Malta. Speakers included members of the European Commission (DG CNECT, DG SANTE), Malta’s minister of health, and top researchers among others.

A Maltese and a German Health NCP, and partner in the European project Health NCP Net 2.0 (HNN 2.0), presented HNN 2.0 in a short talk, were on hand to answer questions at the HNN 2.0 information booth and were available for bilateral meetings. Several participants of the eHealth Week 2017 were interested in finding out about funding opportunities in Horizon 2020. They also appreciate the services that NCPs and HNN 2.0 offer.

Public stakeholder consultation for Youth and Young Scientists

Interim evaluation of Horizon 2020 – Preparing the future

We invite everyone to take part in this public stakeholder consultation in the context of the interim evaluation of Horizon 2020, and to have a say on research and innovation activities run by the European Commission. The results of this consultation will feed into the report on the interim evaluation of Horizon 2020, will help to improve the implementation of Horizon 2020 and will set the scene for the future discussions on the next EU research and innovation funding post-2020.

This questionnaire is focused on Horizon 2020 in general and it is specifically addressed to the youth and young researchers.

The deadline for the survey is on Tuesday 18 April 2017.

Updated template for 'Essential information on clinical studies'

The Commission has released an updated version of the template for 'Essential information on clinical studies'. The document is available as pdf in all 2017 RTD topics in the participant portal.

The template is mandatory for all clinical studies included in a single-stage- or stage-2 proposal submitted to topics PM-02-2017, PM-07-2017, PM-08-2017, PM-10-2017, PM-11-2016-2017, HCO-07-2017.

For these topics, applicants will have the possibility to upload the completed template as a separate part of their application in the submission system. For proposals containing clinical studies submitted to topics not listed here applicants may use the points contained in the template as an orientation and provide this information e.g. in section B.3.1. of the proposal.

Swiss participation in Horizon 2020

On 16 December 2016 the Swiss Federal Council ratified the Protocol on the extension to Croatia of the Free Movement of Persons Agreement between the EU and Switzerland. That means that in accordance with Article 13(6) of the Agreement associating Switzerland to Horizon 2020, as of 1 January 2017 the Association Agreement with Switzerland continues to apply and will be expanded to cover the whole of Horizon 2020, Euratom Programme 2014-2018 and activities carried out by Fusion for Energy.

The European Commission invites you to reply to the online survey concerning the implementation of the Second European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership programme (EDCTP2 programme).

This public consultation is an essential part of the first interim evaluation of the EDCTP2 programme carried out by the Commission assisted by independent experts. Your opinion and the views of other stakeholders will contribute to this evaluation and to the implementation of the EDCTP2 programme, that aims to support clinical development of effective, safe, accessible, suitable and affordable medical interventions in order to reduce the social and economic burden of poverty-related diseases in sub-Saharan Africa.

The analysis of the replies will be published in the beginning of next year.

Under the umbrella of EuroNanoMed III, the 8th Joint Transnational Call will be launched for funding multilateral innovative research projects on nanomedicine together with the European Commission under the ERA-NET Cofund mechanism:

Young Forum Gastein 2016 - Call for Newcomer Applications

The Young Forum Gastein Scholarship was initiated in 2007 by the International Forum Gastein, with the support of the European Commission. The scholarships enable young health professionals to attend the EHFG conference to learn about the latest health developments in Europe and meet and debate with European and global health experts.
